Request account deletion
You can request deletion of your Tree Wellfinder account and its associated data without installing the app or signing in.
Send your request
- Email [email protected] from the email address associated with your Tree account.
- Use the subject “Tree Wellfinder account deletion” and say that you want your account and associated data deleted.
- If you cannot access that email address, contact the same support address and explain this. We may need to verify ownership before processing your request.
If the button does not open an email app, send your request using your email service. Do not send your password, verification codes, or payment-card details.
Data covered by your request
Your request covers your account and sign-in information, saved and marked wells associated with your account, and related account access records. Please identify any correction submissions or support messages you also want reviewed for deletion.
Some records may need to be retained for billing, legal obligations, fraud prevention, or the integrity of a well correction, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Support can explain which records must be kept and their applicable retention period when reviewing your request.
Deletion and retention periods
We process verified account-deletion requests within 30 days. This removes your account and associated saved wells, marks, observed location records, private test wells, and app access records from our active database.
Routine security logs maintained directly by Tree are kept for no more than 90 days. Records needed to investigate a specific security incident, fraud, or dispute may be kept until that matter is resolved or a legal requirement ends.
Necessary billing and tax records are generally kept for 3 years after the relevant tax return is filed, and longer where tax rules, an unresolved dispute, or another legal obligation require it. We retain only the information needed for those purposes.
Our service providers manage their own logs, payment records, and backup copies under their applicable retention policies and configured schedules. Those copies may remain after removal from our active database. We can explain the applicable exceptions when responding to your request.
Subscriptions and local data
Canceling a subscription does not delete your account. Deleting an account is separate from subscription cancellation; contact support if you need help with an active subscription. You can also clear your browser or app storage to remove local copies of recent, saved, and marked well information. Clearing local storage does not delete your server account.
This page starts an email request. Opening it or the email button does not itself delete data.
